To a healthier lifestyle

Today is the day that I finally make the right choices for a healthier lifestyle, not only for myself but for my children and loved ones. I have made the two most important decisions in my life; Quit Smoking and Lose Weight.

I was a bit hesitant about starting the most talked about prescription drug Chantix. Well, today is day one of this drug and its giving me an awful taste in my mouth (although it could be my imagination). I am not sure how my body will react to this medication seeing as though it has alot of strange side effects. I will keep you posted!

As for my weight loss, I will begin the orientation for the Lap Band surgery on April 22 with hopes I will be a great canidate for this amazing surgery that everyone raves and rants about! I must take one step at a time and for me to even qualify for surgery, I MUST QUIT SMOKING; so this will be Step 1.

I will keep you updated as days go on and as for my friend, Katrina, you and me will struggle with the battle of weight loss for the lost Together!

Welcome

Welcome to Weight Loss for the Lost, I am the lost. A book blogger, a student, a child care worker, a wife, a daughter, a friend. In my goal to be everything to everyone I have gotten up to 276 lbs and I am miserable with myself. My childhood friend, M, and I both want to under go the Lap Band procedure and through research, we have found that we should be actively trying to lose weight while going through the classes before the procedure.

The last time I was weighed was in November, I was 276lbs according to the doctor's scale. Since then, I haven't had working batteries in my home scale. I finally bought some and my weight was 263.6 I am proud that I lost weight but I have been doing little in way of making that happen so I attribute it to medication changes. Let's be honest I have sat on the couch eating cookies and chip, drinking soda and watching while I kill myself with the poor choices I make.

One thing you need to know about me is I strive for perfection. I over do it when I take on a task like this. If I stop posting it means I gave up, if I can't do something right I give up and eat a cookie (or fifty). If I am too perfect, it means I am lying to you and myself. My goal is to be honest here, about my successes and my failures and my on going struggle to be the me I want to be. Today it the day I change my life. It is day one on a new and exciting journey. Join me and share in my weight loss hell. Because it is hell for people like me who have struggled all their life with weight and battling with food.
